Ayurvedic Yoga Massage (AYM) is a unique system of bodywork that combines deep tissue oil massage with assisted yoga stretches and coordinated breathwork, which works on physical, emotional, mental and energetic levels.

To allow a full range of movement and flow during stretching, Ayurvedic Yoga Massage treatment is performed on a mat laid on the floor, similar to Thai massage. Each treatment is adjusted to suit clients' needs, whether that is relaxing, energising, soothing, deep or remedial.

Each treatment is initiated with a sequence to warm up the body, which allows the session to become a moving meditation. Durig this sequence a mixture of oil and ayurvedic herb - Acorus calamus - in the form of powder, is applied to the skin. Ground Acorus calamus stimulates the flow of blood, which not only helps to further warm up the muscles but also supports the body’s detoxing processes as well as giving a pleasant, warm, exfoliating feeling.

Deep tissue massage helps to remove knots in the muscles and soft tissues, dissolving physical tension, while the assisted yoga stretches and breath exercises realign the body, help correct postural imbalances and stimulate the natural flow of energy, leaving you feeling renewed, calm and centred.

During the treatment, the client is eased progressively deeper into assisted yoga stretches, through synchronised breathing, which both synergistically help the nervous system to relax. AYM techniques incorporate the use of hands as well as feet as tools for massage. Skillful use of feet allows for a deeper and more thorough pressure through long and graceful strokes.
Each treatment is finished with a head and face massage and a minute of quiet integration.

AYM is offered by Joanna, Joti, Solsuna & Steffy.
